Garway Hill and the Commoners’ Association

Garway Hill is situated in South Herefordshire, within sight of the border between England and Wales. It rises to 1203 feet (366m) and is a prominent landmark. Garway Hill Common occupies 203 acres (82ha) at the summit of the hill.

The Commoners’ Association was formed to look after the natural environment of the hill, both for leisure and agricultural purposes. The Common is a valuable local resource for walkers and other recreational users who enjoy its old-world tranquility and the magnificent panoramic views from the hilltop. It is also home to sheep and horses belonging to local graziers.

On this site you will find information about the local birds, animals and plants, including some rarities. You will also find information about the initiatives undertaken by the Association to maintain and improve the hilltop environment. We welcome everyone who shares our love of this special place.
